Gay on God's Campus:
The Students and Stories Behind the Headlines
A New Play in Progress
March 28, 2025 – Fort Langley | March 29, 2025 – Abbotsford | March 30 – North Vancouver
What happens when you're queer at a Christian university infamous for its policies against LGBTQ+ students? Gay on God’s Campus is a new play in progress, created by the cast and based on the true stories of LGBTQ+ students at Trinity Western University. This co-production between Dark Glass Theatre and One TWU has been over a year in the making, bringing these lived experiences to the stage in an honest, irreverent, and raw performance.
The Story Doesn’t End Here
This isn’t a finished product. Gay on God’s Campus is an evolving work that invites you, the final cast member, into the process. Each performance includes a post-show talkback, where audience members can engage with the cast, ask questions, share reflections, and be part of a larger conversation about faith, identity, and belonging.
Why This Matters
For years, Trinity Western University made headlines for its community covenant and legal battles over its proposed law school. But the real stories are those of the students who lived through it—those who navigated the tension between their faith and their identity in a place that often refused to make space for both. Gay on God’s Campus brings these voices forward, not as news stories or debates, but as lived experiences that deserve to be heard.
